Georgetown County is implementing organizational changes in 2026, including the promotion of Brandon Ellis and Carla Harvey to Assistant County Administrator roles. The realignment is designed to improve efficiency and support major county initiatives.

‼ The Annual Murrells Inlet Tree Lighting has been canceled due to inclement weather‼ 🌧️
There will be no rain date for this event, but please join us at the Murrells Inlet 2020 office (4124 B Hwy 17 Business, Murrells Inlet) tomorrow during the Christmas Parade and enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, kids' crafts, and great Christmas cheer!
The Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade is still on for tomorrow and will start promptly at 3pm 🎅

The S.C. Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) encourages the public to review and provide input on the draft 2025 South Carolina Water Plan — a comprehensive document that defines best practices for managing South Carolina’s water resources for generations to come.

Water is a shared resource in high demand for many essential uses, from drinking water and recreation to agriculture and industry. The updated water plan has been a collaborative effort of many, including the WaterSC Water Resources Working Group (WaterSC), the River Basin Councils (RBCs) and other stakeholders.
