"Our son Jeffery became an Organ Donor in September of 2012. Recipients received the gifts of his heart, his liver, both kidneys and his lungs. He was also able to help 28 people in 12 states and 1 in the United Kingdom, with his tissue donation. Can't believe it's been 14 years. We miss him every single day. 😇🧡"

"Heather was born with Cystic Fibrosis and received her first double lung transplant at 20 years old in 2012. In January 2020, she received her second double lung transplant before kidney failure began, and she was added to the transplant waiting list for a donor kidney. In April of 2025, Heather was given the gift of life again from a deceased donor.

'I would not be here without the selfless and courageous organ donors who chose to save lives. I am able to pursue my dreams and simple things in daily life. Being able to live is a gift I do not take for granted, and I have endless gratitude for my donors. I hope that the way I live honors them with every breath. I am a songwriter, musician, author, podcaster, and even do some motivational speaking. I get to celebrate another birthday because of the gift of life. It’s a connection that is indescribable to know someone saved your life and gave you the gift of life. Organ donors are the heroes that don’t need to wear a cape because their actions prove they are!'"

"I'm a double-lung transplant recipient. I'm alive today thanks to my donor and their family. I wrote a letter, and I'm hoping and praying for the opportunity to thank them in person.

Thank you, organ donors."

"Gary F. Jr always brought life and warmth into every room he entered. It is only fitting that, in his passing, Gary chose to share that life with others through organ donation. He turned our deepest tragedy into a miracle for someone else. Knowing Gary’s heartbeat continues and that others are breathing easier because of him brings a quiet peace to our grief. He will forever be missed and forever honored as a lifesaver, a protector, a giver and an absolute hero." —Marie

“Because of your loved one's selfless gift, I was able to receive the bone graft that is giving me a second chance; not just in my sport, but in living without constant pain. Your generosity has given me hope, healing, and the opportunity to come back stronger than ever."

At 15, Max Salebra already has an impressive resume: American Ninja Warrior, two-time World Ninja champion, World Cup gold medalist, two-time Obstacle Course racing gold medalist, and Tissue Graft Recipient.

Max was diagnosed with osteochondritis dissecans, a joint condition most often affecting adolescents, at age 14. In February 2026, he underwent surgery, and the graft he received gave him greater mobility with less pain. His mother, Lanie, says Max's healing is progressing incredibly well, and he should be able to begin training again.

Max has promised to honor the gift by working hard, staying grateful, and never taking this second chance for granted. 💙💚 Max’s American Ninja Warrior episode will air Monday, July 6, on NBC. Thank to Solvita and Donate Life America for sharing this story with us!
