🚨 Workplace Favoritism Investigation 🚨

A recent TikTok trend made its way to the Calloway County Jail, where staff were asked to name their favorite coworker.

After reviewing the results, we discovered a concerning pattern…

The overwhelming majority of staff answered “Jasmine.”

Unfortunately for the rest of our employees, Jasmine is not a Deputy Jailer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, or Jailer. In fact, she doesn’t work a single shift, has never completed training, and contributes absolutely nothing to the daily operation of the jail, except for her ability to make our days better.

Jasmine is our 4-legged Corgi friend who visits us during the day in our front office 🐶

Despite her lack of qualifications, Jasmine continues to receive special treatment, unlimited attention, belly rubs, and frequent visits from staff throughout the day. Our command staff has looked into the matter and determined that her fluffy appearance and wagging tail have given her an unfair advantage over the rest of the workforce.

The investigation remains ongoing, but at this time Jasmine has declined to comment and was last seen demanding treats from staff members.

Second Chance Workforce is hosting their first Golf Scramble fundraising event on July 31st, 2026 and they are looking for sponsors as well as interested participants to spend a beautiful day golfing while raising money for this awesome program. Second Chance Workforce (SCW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in March of 2025 located in Murray with a mission to create pathways for reentry-ready individuals to successfully reintegrate into the workforce. They are committed to a student-centered approach, building relationships through love and support, and equipping learners with essential skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to secure meaningful employment.

Reach out to Program Director Kent Barlow at the phone number or email below (in the pictures) if you’d like to sponsor this event or to sign up a team to play and win some great prizes. Our jail is thankful for the opportunities they have given our inmates over the last year by allowing them to participate in trainings that allows them to gain knowledge and certifications to help them with a job search after incarceration.

Every so often, a confused bird finds its way into our outdoor recreation yard and quickly realizes it has made a poor life decision. That’s when Deputy Hutson steps in — with patience, determination, and what can only be described as a natural talent for bird wrangling, Deputy Hutson safely captures these feathered inmates and escorts them back to freedom—without so much as a disciplinary write-up.

To date, he has successfully rescued multiple birds that have accidentally checked themselves into the jail, making him the leading deputy in wildlife releases at the facility. In the photo, Deputy Hutson is seen with one of his latest rescues before releasing it back into the community. Fortunately for the bird, its stay was short-lived and it was not charged housing fees.

We appreciate Deputy Hutson’s willingness to go above and beyond, whether he’s helping people or our unexpected winged visitors. Great job, Justin!
