It was a distinct honor to be invited by the Rutherford County Library System to share remarks at the premiere of the America 250 lecture series and the Revolutionary Rutherford traveling exhibit today.

The exhibit reminds us that Rutherford County’s story is woven into the larger story of our nation: from ordinary citizens who shaped our early days to the communities that carried that legacy forward.

I’m committed to preserving our local history, supporting civic learning and ensuring these stories remain accessible to every resident. I encourage families, students and history lovers to attend the lectures, explore the exhibit and take pride in the people and places that make Rutherford County unique.
