Dangerous heat is expected across Middle Tennessee over the next several days. Even if you're healthy, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can quickly lead to heat-related illness.

πŸ’§ Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
🏠 Spend time in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
πŸ‘• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
⏰ Limit outdoor activities to the early morning or evening.
🧴 Wear sunscreen and take frequent breaks in the shade.
πŸš— Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle - even for a few minutes.

Take time to check on neighbors, friends, and family members who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

🐾 Provide plenty of fresh water.
🐾 Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
🐾 Never leave pets in a parked vehicle.
🐾 Check pavement temperatures before walks- if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
Help keep your pets safe and healthy this summer.
