I have been unable to schedule regular classes but I have been dyeing (hahaha) to do this workshop. Guest artist Jessica Robertson will be joining us as we experiment and explore Shibori techniques with indigo dye. This workshop is for teens and adults. Younger artists will need an adult to stay and help them.

Unlike most fabric dyes, indigo does not get more intense the longer it soaks but rather with repeated dips where the fabric can dry in between. You encouraged to schedule a session in the morning to bind your materials, dip them, and then leave for lunch or errands and return to dip your fabrics again.

Properly worn masks will be required and most of the workshop will take place outside. Make sure the fabric or items you bring are natural fibers as synthetic materials (like polyester) will not dye well.
