A recent Palo alto Weekly article highlights how organizations like Second Harvest of Silicon Valley are preparing for increased demand as new CalFresh work requirements take effect and additional reductions loom.

Through Silicon Valley Community Foundation's Community Lifeline Fund, we are helping local nonprofits respond to growing community needs. Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is among the organizations that have already received support through the fund, helping ensure families, seniors and individuals facing food insecurity can continue to access essential services.

As our Executive Vice President of Community Impact and Policy, Moses Zapien, shared in the article: "The need simply shifts to local food banks, community-based organizations, schools, faith communities and other nonprofits that become the safety net."

The need is growing, and so is the importance of supporting the organizations working on the front lines.
