❌ Toxic positivity is the idea that despite dire circumstances, people should remain optimistic.
😥 Toxic positivity promotes the idea that we must keep our painful emotions inside and dismiss our negative feelings by responding with optimism.
🗣️ While this may seem ideal, it is unrealistic because it is natural to have negative feelings and struggle from time to time.
🧠 When we deny the experiences of others and ignore the fact that they are upset, we cause more harm than good.
💓 It's best to offer support and validation when someone shares their struggles with you. Let them know what they are going through is okay and ask them how you can best support them.

🧠 Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health conditions that involve excessive and persistent anxiety and fear, often accompanied by physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, sweating, and trembling.
👀 They can be caused by a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors, and can be treated with a variety of therapies, including medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes.
💕 Additional strategies to help reduce and manage anxiety day to day include: spending time outdoors, listening to music, and stimulating the 5 senses.
🔍 Since anxiety is also accompanied by physical symptoms such as fatigue, muscle aches, tension and headaches, an ice roller or acupressure mat are ways that you can manage physical discomfort.
🧦 Additionally, cozy socks, robes, and blankets, scented candles and oil diffusers are gentle ways to calm our nervous system. Let us know what tools resonate most with you!
