Thank you Experience Mount Vernon for entrusting me with this amazing photo project! It was a blast to not only figure out the same spot to take the photo from, but also editing the two together to showcase how 100 years can change some things and keep others the same.

Ah, dear friends, I’ve set myself to the grand task of building a proper Hobbit door right here in me little shop — round as a full moon and green as a summer hill! The wood’s been cut, the hinges chosen with care, and the frame’s takin’ shape bit by bit. But alas! The work’s not quite finished yet. There’s still paint to be brushed, a k**b to be fitted right in the middle (as is proper!), and a touch o’ charm to be added before it feels truly homey. Still, every day it grows closer, and soon enough, folk’ll be walking through it like stepping straight into the Shire. Patience, as they say, is the gardener’s friend — and this door’s blooming slow but sure.
