Most people walk into a session telling me they’re awkward in front of a camera.

What they usually mean is they’re not used to being looked at without judgment.

A photograph can’t tell you who you are.

But sometimes it can remind you.

The longer I’m a photographer, the more I realize that some of my favorite portraits aren’t of models at all.

They’re of the people I love.
