From San Francisco to the lab, CMU doctoral student Katie Monske is advancing behavioral research that could deepen our understanding of impulsive decision-making. Katie recently presented her work at the Society for the Quantitative Analysis of Behavior (SQAB) and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) conferences, sharing research that uses animal models to investigate impulsive choice and explore characteristics associated with ADHD. Jacob Hamlin was a quarterfinalist for the National Trumpet Competition, held at the University of Iowa. With funding from ORGS, Hamlin had the opportunity to meet trumpet players and professors from different schools across the country, listen to the St. Louis Symphony trumpet section and the U.S. Navy Jazz Band, and visit vendors from various trumpet manufactures.
