🕰️ Throwback Thursday to 1953! 📆

A look back at the demolition of the old Market Street bridge over the Clinton River. 🚧🌉 Originally built in 1885, the bridge connected Market Street on the west side to Dickinson Avenue on the east.

By 1950, it had become too narrow and unsafe for more than one car at a time, creating a major downtown traffic bottleneck. ⚠️ In 1953, the bridge was dismantled and replaced with the modern 4-lane Dickinson bridge we know today.
