Leon’s Burger Express in historic downtown Mt. Airy, North Carolina, is a classic Main Street stop known for its friendly vibe and standout food. Open since 1995, it serves breakfast all day alongside fresh, hand-pattied burgers. The “California Cheeseburger” is the star, loaded with toppings that regulars swear by. Inside, the diner has a simple, old-school atmosphere that fits right into Andy Griffith’s hometown. The diner itself has a throwback, old-school feel with counter seating where you can watch the grill master at work, plus a few booths. Breakfast is served all day, from biscuits and gravy to sausage plates, making it as popular in the morning as it is at lunch. Great place to stop and feel like a local when it this interesting little town in NC!
