What a wonderful afternoon spent making memories with our Foothills Young Professionals families! From splashing through the splash pad to enjoying great food and even better company, it was the perfect way to cool off and connect with one another!

A new chapter begins at Westwood Park!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ribbon cutting celebrating the completion of the Westwood Park Accessible Improvements Project. This exciting investment represents more than new amenities, it reflects our community's commitment to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

The project features a brand-new accessible playground with poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, an accessible walking trail, a fully accessible shelter, outdoor fitness stations, and inclusive play equipment designed for children of all abilities. From wheelchair-accessible swings to innovative play features that encourage children to learn and play together, every detail was thoughtfully designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind.

Made possible through a $500,000 grant from the NC Recreation & Park Association Trust Fund, along with a $100,000 The City of Mount Airy, NC match, this nearly $600,000 investment ensures Westwood Park will serve generations of families with a space where everyone feels welcome.
