🌱 LANDSCAPING RESTORATION PROJECT 🌱
Most of our students might be away for the summer, but we are hard at work behind the scenes! Our gardens have been a bit neglected lately, and we are putting in the elbow grease right now to restore them into a beautiful, welcoming space for when everyone returns this fall.
To help us rebuild structures, clear paths, and get things growing, we are looking for a few donations—and a couple of specialty tools we could borrow!
If you are around town and can help us out, please take a look at our current needs:
🛠️ TOOLS TO BORROW:
-Electric edge trimmer
-Heavy-duty edger
🌱 ITEMS TO DONATE (New or Gently Used):
-Sturdy outdoor benches (to give students a place to sit and relax)
-Patio umbrellas (for some much-needed summer shade)
-W**d killer (and/or leftover w**d and feed for our lawn areas)
-W**d cover tarp
-Fence posts (wood or metal)
-Landscaping masonry (paving stones, bricks, or other hardscaping blocks)
-Garden hose
-Water timer
-Oscillating sprinkler
-Exterior or fence paint (for the reclaimed wood we are using to build structures)
-Perennials (we are looking for colorful, drought-resistant flowers, shrubs, small trees, and vines!)
-Every donation or loaned tool helps us transform this space into a peaceful campus sanctuary for our community and returning students.

Thank you so much for your support, and please feel free to share this post!

It’s officially Finals Week (May 4th – May 8th) for University of Idaho students! The pressure is on, and we want R House to be the ultimate sanctuary for focusing, recharging, and staying fueled.
Here is how you can make a direct impact on our students as they finish the semester strong:
1. Help Us Create Outdoor Study Spaces 🪑
Our students have been vocal about wanting more places to gather and study outside. We are looking for outdoor benches or patio sets to transform our grounds into a functional, relaxing space for the R House community.
Have a set to share? We are happy to accept your gently used patio furniture!
Schedule a Pick-up: Please contact our Administrative Coordinator, Abra Miller, at [email protected] to coordinate a time for us to come pick it up.
2. Fuel Success with Food Pantry & Community Meals 🍎
Finals week is demanding, and we’re making sure no student goes hungry. Many students visit us at 822 Elm Street looking for lunch each day. We are currently looking to heavily stock the food pantry with snacks and easy meals—from microwave popcorn to sandwich fixings, every little bit helps!
We are also incredibly grateful for the Moscow Seventh-day Adventist Church and Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church for providing lunches on Tuesday, May 5th and Thursday May 7th this week.
3. Join Our "26 in 2026" Campaign đź“…
Looking for a simple way to provide steady support? Our 26 in 2026 initiative is the perfect way to get involved. By committing to a small, consistent gift, you help provide the reliable funding we need to keep our programs and student-focused facilities running smoothly all year long.
🙌 Monthly Wellness Shout-Out!
Need to de-stress? We want to recognize Belinda Rhodes, LMT, PBP, who visits us monthly to support student wellness. She will be providing walk-in Bowenwork sessions on Thursday, May 7th from 2:30–4:30 PM downstairs at R House where Students are able to Come get some relief from those long study hours!
