Faith is strongest when it is chosen, not imposed. I believe deeply in the First Amendment.

It protects your freedom of religion and your freedom from government-imposed religion. If you are Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Latter Day Saint, Episcopal, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or belong to any other faith, you have every right to practice your beliefs. If you do not practice a religion at all, you have that same right. That is exactly what the Founders sought to protect when they adopted the First Amendment.

Government should never decide which faith is the “right” one. Parents should raise their children according to their own values and beliefs, not according to whichever political party happens to be in power. Religious freedom does not mean one religion rules over everyone else.

Every Idahoan has the same freedom to believe, worship, question, or not believe at all. That is not just an Idaho value. That is an American promise. 💙
