The Forty Files

It was a rainy weekend, and I still found ways to romanticize it.

My husband brought the peonies inside so the rain wouldn’t ruin them, and their soft pink blooms made the house feel tender.

A volunteer project many people poured their hearts into finally launched, and even gray skies couldn’t dim the joy of it.

I rested, snuggled my growing girls, and quietly counted my blessings while my husband slept beside me.

Rain tapped softly at the windows while the world slowed enough for gratitude to settle in.

Life is too fleeting not to find beauty in the ordinary.

Falling in love with this house all over again — and this time, the bathroom wallpaper has me completely fawning over florals. Little by little, this home is starting to feel like us again.

A Hallelujah for the cabinets finally being figured out and finished. The house is clean, the contractor is dunzo, and peace is slowly returning to the land. Sure, there’s still painting and wallpapering to tackle. Oh, and furniture. Minor details. But my friends, praise be — because for the first time in what feels like forever, the end is officially in sight. 🙌❤️
