Based on cyanobacteria cell concentrations in samples collected from the lake on June 28, 2026, and other related data, the risk to the public from cyanobacteria and harmful algal blooms was LOW.

🎆🇺🇸 Help us celebrate America's 250th Birthday with fireworks over Bantam Lake on Saturday, July 4th!

Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy a concert on the Morris Town Beach (83 East Shore Rd.) at 6pm — admission and parking are free and open to all!

Fireworks will start after dusk and be viewable from the beach or by boat in South Bay.

Special thanks to John & Jacquie DuFour, the Town of Morris, and anonymous donors for funding the fireworks show and allowing us to honor the memory of beloved longtime Bantam Lake community member, Christine Longo.

As discussed at our annual meeting, the lake will be treated with algicide on THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 2026 to combat rapidly rising cyanobacteria cell counts. Cell counts started to grow exponentially in late May and that pattern has continued, and we anticipate a RED stoplight very soon.

✅ Extensive water sampling is required to determine the appropriate locations and dose of the treatment.

✅ Treatments are applied in such a way to limit exposure to any beneficial aquatic life; they are NOT dumped indiscriminately.
