This Therapy Thursday, meet Stacy, our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is based in our Willmar clinic and offers virtual visits across all sites.

Here is her mental health tip:
Mental health matters. Struggling is not a personal failure, and asking for help takes strength. You would not hide a physical injury, so there is no need to hide emotional pain. Talking openly can save lives, and there is no shame in reaching out. Change begins when we speak honestly.

Meet Michael, a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist with 24 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. Michael joined CHSI in February of 2025 and has brought a wealth of experience from outpatient, school, medical, and partial hospitalization program settings, helping patients navigate life’s challenges with compassion and expertise.

Before joining CHSI, Michael worked at PrairieCare, Mayo Clinic, and a community health center in Idaho, and has also trained psychiatry residents and presented at national conferences. He has a passion for serving others, including humanitarian work in Ecuador, Guatemala, Sri Lanka, and Peru. Michael specializes in trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parent-child relationships, and life transitions.

Michael’s favorite part about CHSI is being part of a team that is dedicated to patient-centered, culturally responsive, and accessible care for all, where he can support patients and help make a positive impact in their lives.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys time with his wife and four children, traveling, camping, Broadway musicals, running, singing in the Rochester Rainbow Choir, and giving back through volunteering.
