🌳🚒 Not the kind of housewarming gift anyone wants!

Engine 8, Rescue 93, Car 34, and Heavy Rescue 75 responded to a report of a tree on a house on Speigle St. Upon arrival, crews found a large section of a tree had fallen onto the residence, causing significant damage.

Firefighters quickly searched the home to ensure no occupants were inside and secured the scene. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Remember, after storms and high winds, be aware of damaged trees and limbs that may still be at risk of falling!

This week, they got their first opportunity to put some water through a hose and start learning the basics. They’re off to a great start, and we look forward to following their journey in the months ahead!

🚑Montgomery Fire/Rescue is proud to recognize Lieutenant Demetrius Gilmore for his heroic off‑duty actions!

While playing pickleball at the Bell Road YMCA, Lt. Gilmore noticed a man collapse and immediately stepped in. He quickly assessed the patient, began CPR, directed bystanders, applied an automated external defibrillator (AED) and successfully delivered a shock which restored the patient’s pulse before on‑duty crews arrived. The patient was alert and oriented before being transported to a local hospital for further care.

Because of his swift actions and expert training, a life was saved.
