Oh wow! This PS5 didn't want to turn on at all. I got to use some pretty neat tools to fix it.

First, hooking up the PS5 to a computer to read error codes using a TTL-USB device. The error codes told me there was an issue loading up the WiFi chio so the system didn't want to boot. Next I used a thermal camera to try and find what component might be bad. Sure enough I found a capacitor that was overheating and shorting to ground along with other components also shorting to ground. Once I removed and replaced that capacitor all short circuits disappeared and the system was able to boot again. 😎
