Last week, Arterial's Dave Lustberg and Jessie Summers joined the folks from Middlesex County NJ Government and Langan Engineering for a site visit to check on the progress of our piece of the Community, Innovation, and Opportunity (CIO) Strategic Investment Plan at Middlesex College. We even got a sneak peek of the new stadium, currently under construction, which will serve as an open-air multi-purpose community venue for concerts, cultural events, and sports. 🏟

Back in 2024, , in partnership with the State of New Jersey, announced their CIO Strategic Investment Plan, part of Middlesex County’s Destination 2040 Strategic Plan. The CIO Plan aims to make the campus in a regional destination for academics, athletics, and cultural arts. 🎭🎓

Arterial is proud to be the lead Landscape Architect and Prime Consultant commissioned by the County to design a new 8-acre educational amenity and , which will be adjacent to the new $70m Middlesex College stadium. 🏟🌳

Middlesex County aims to develop this new to serve as a beacon for innovative, inclusive, and . This new park will be a place where play and education converge, fostering cognitive, physical, and social development for children of all ages.

Clang, clang, clang went the trolley! Ding, ding, ding went the bell! 🚃

Earlier this month, Arterial Junior Designer Nicole Vuono attended the 2026 Streetlife Crossroads Seminar in Brooklyn & Long Island City, hosted by Streetlife in partnership with ASLA NY and Landezine. Focused on “Urban Microclimates: Landscape Strategies for Cooler Cities,” the seminar explored , urban , and the role of in creating more resilient cities. 💪

The program included a trolley tour of several waterfront landscape architecture projects, including Marsha P Johnson State Park designed by Starr Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners, Williamsburg Wharf designed by SCAPE, and Malt Drive Park also by SCAPE, followed by afternoon seminar sessions and discussions on climate-responsive . 🌱
