A importância de uma saudação.

“Irmãos, devemos sempre dar graças a Deus por vocês; e isso é justo, porque a fé que vocês têm cresce cada vez mais, e muito aumenta o amor de todos vocês uns pelos outros.”
2 Tessalonicenses 1.3

Quando revemos alguém, ou nos é apresentado alguém de quem já ouvimos falar, passamos a ser incapazes de cumprimentar essa pessoa, sem termos em mente o conceito prévio que temos dela, o que muitas vezes é percebível em nossas expressões e palavras. Paulo nesta segunda carta ao Tessalonicenses, pelo seu conhecimento prévio sobre estes irmãos, abre a sua carta com uma saudação, que termina em oração, tudo com uma evidente ação de graças, por aquilo que aqueles irmãos eram em Cristo Jesus. A disposição destes irmãos em servir a Deus era grandemente percebível por Paulo e pelos demais, ainda que houvesse áreas a melhorar e correções a serem feitas. Estes salvos naquela comunidade, por outras palavras esta igreja local, como organismo vivo, tinha como propósito viver para a glória de Deus, exaltando Cristo, dirigidos pelo Espírito Santo, representando o Evangelho com o próprio viver.

Caro leitor, busquemos viver, debaixo da direção do Espírito Santo, de forma a que devido ao conhecimento prévio de nossas ações, sejamos saudados com ação de graças, para glória do Nome do nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo.

The importance of a greeting

“We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.”
2 Thessalonians 1:3

When we meet someone again, or are introduced to someone we have already heard about, we find ourselves unable to greet that person without keeping in mind the prior impression we have of them—something that is often noticeable in our expressions and words. In this second letter to the Thessalonians, Paul, based on his prior knowledge of these brothers and sisters, opens his letter with a greeting that turns into a prayer, all with a clear expression of thanksgiving for what those believers were in Christ Jesus. The willingness of these brothers and sisters to serve God was clearly evident to Paul and to others, even though there were still areas to improve and corrections to be made. These saved people in that community—in other words, this local church—as a living organism, had the purpose of living for the glory of God, exalting Christ, being led by the Holy Spirit, and representing the Gospel through their very lives.

Dear reader, let us seek to live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in such a way that, because of the prior knowledge of our actions, we may be greeted with thanksgiving, to the glory of the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
