This salt-painted fireworks craft is one of our favorites, and it's perfect for the 4th of July! Kids trace the design with glue, sprinkle on salt, and watch the color spread as they paint.
It's a wonderful low-stimulation sensory activity...no loud noises, no bright flashing lights, just the calm, focused process of tracing, sprinkling, and painting. Along the way, kids are building fine motor skills through the glue tracing and pinching salt between their fingers, all while exploring color and texture at their own pace.
Be sure to check out our last post for more tips on enjoying 4th of July, and have a safe and happy holiday!

At ALP, our mission to make the world a more inclusive place doesn't begin and end with autism. It extends to every person and every community that has had to fight for equity.
Today we honor Juneteenth, a day of liberation and joy, and a reminder that advocating for one community means showing up for all communities.
Happy Juneteenth!
