DOG Oratorical

The dates for the 2026 National Oratorical Scholarship Contest at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan have been set. They are May 15-17, 2026. Good luck to all the students participating at every level and in each department contest in 2026!!!

The 2026 DOG Oratorical Weebly webpage is updated with post, district, and area contest deadlines. National has yet to publish the dates for the National Contest. Regardless, the Department Contest will be March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Historic Mary Persons Auditorium in Forsyth, Ga. We have used this beautiful and highly functional facility for 4 years and love our partnership with the Monroe County Board of Education. Good luck to all the contestants!!

It is a pleasure to report that the Department of Georgia 2025 Oratorical Scholarship winner, Allison Yang, advanced to the national Semi-Finals. This means she was in the top 18 speakers nationally. This is the third year in a row Georgia has had a Semi-Finalist.

This site is to promote and enhance the Department of Georgia American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Program-A Constitutional Speech Contest. The contest is conducted every year for high school students in Georgia whether they attend a traditional high school program are home schooled or dual enrolled. This is the 87th year. the Georgia finals are March 30th and the National finals are May 17-19.
