I get ask all the time. "Can you cut it shorter "

NO! THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS NO!

🚨 Cutting Your Grass Shorter Does NOT Mean You Can Mow Less Often 🚨

One of the biggest lawn care myths is that cutting your grass extra short will save you time and money. In reality, it often does more harm than good.

When grass is cut too short:
🌱 It weakens the root system, making your lawn less healthy.

☀️ The soil is exposed to more sunlight, causing it to dry out faster.

🌿 Weeds have an easier time taking over because healthy grass isn't there to crowd them out.

💧 Your lawn requires more water because the shorter grass blades can't retain moisture as effectively.

🔥 It increases stress on the grass, especially during Georgia's hot summer months.

A healthy lawn should never have more than one-third of the blade removed at a time. Keeping your grass at the proper height promotes deeper roots, better drought tolerance, and a thicker, greener lawn.

Remember: A healthy lawn isn't about mowing it shorter—it's about mowing it smarter.

Scheduling in the lawn care industry is more complex than most people realize.

When a client asks to move their service back a couple of days, it may seem like a small change—but it can have a ripple effect on the entire schedule. Routes are carefully planned based on location, timing, and workload to keep everything running efficiently and on time for all clients.

Shifting one property often means rearranging multiple stops, increasing drive time, and in some cases, pushing other clients outside their expected service window. It can also impact the condition of the lawn itself—waiting longer between cuts can lead to stress on the grass and a less consistent appearance.

We always do our best to accommodate requests when possible, but consistency is key to providing high-quality results and dependable service.

We appreciate clients who understand that sticking to your scheduled day helps us serve everyone better—and keeps your lawn looking its best week after week.

This might go against what you’ve heard—but scalping your lawn during hot weather and drought conditions does more harm than good.
When you cut your grass too short, especially in extreme heat, you’re stripping away its natural protection. Taller grass blades provide shade to the soil, helping retain moisture and regulate temperature. Once that protection is gone, the soil dries out faster, roots become stressed, and your lawn is left vulnerable to damage.
Scalping also weakens the root system. Instead of growing deep and strong, the grass shifts its energy to survival mode. This leads to thin, patchy turf that struggles to recover—especially when water is already limited.
On top of that, shorter grass invites weeds. With less competition and more sunlight reaching the soil, weeds can quickly take over areas where your lawn should be thriving.
A healthy lawn during summer heat should be maintained at a higher cutting height. This promotes deeper roots, better moisture retention, and overall stronger turf that can handle stress.
Bottom line: cutting it shorter doesn’t make it stronger—it makes it suffer.
Protect your investment. Cut smart, not short.
