The Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators recently selected Monroe High School's Jon Creamer as the OASSA Zone 2 Assistant Principal of the Year!

One of 10 zones statewide, Zone 2 is composed of eight Southwestern Ohio counties: Butler, Hamilton, Warren, Clermont, Clinton, Brown, Highland and Adams.

Zone Principals and Assistant Principals of the Year are now finalists at the state level, and later this year, the OASSA Board of Directors will select the four overall winners from this pool of highly talented school leaders to represent the State of Ohio.

This year's Washington, D.C. trip was legen—wait for it—dary!

Thank you to our incredible parent chaperones, staff volunteers, bus drivers and tour guides who helped bring this experience to life. An extra special shoutout goes to Mrs. Cianciola and Mrs. Stanger for the months of planning and care that went into organizing a week-long adventure for nearly 200 people.

Because of you, our eighth graders made memories that will last a lifetime and gained a deeper understanding of our nation’s history, government and the people who helped shape it. 🐝🇺🇸

After more than 30 years in education, including the last nine at Monroe Local Schools, we’re celebrating the retirement of Mrs. Sharon Meek!

As Monroe’s EMIS Coordinator, Sharon worked largely behind the scenes, but her impact could be felt throughout every corner of the district. Known for her expertise, attention to detail and willingness to help, Sharon became the person colleagues turned to when they needed answers, guidance or support. No matter the question or challenge, she always made time to help and never stopped until the job was done.

Over the years, Sharon earned a reputation not only within Monroe, but across Ohio, as a trusted expert in her field. Her knowledge, professionalism and commitment to serving others made her an invaluable resource to countless educators and school districts.

While her title may not have placed her in front of students every day, Sharon's work helped ensure that our schools, staff and students had the information, resources and support they needed to succeed. Simply put, Monroe is a better place because of her contributions.

Thank you, Sharon, for your years of dedication, excellence and unwavering support of Monroe Local Schools. We are incredibly grateful for the privilege of working alongside you and wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement. 🐝

After 23 years at Monroe and a 30-year career in education, we’re celebrating the retirement of Mrs. Cindy Berberich!

When asked about her favorite memories, Cindy is fortunate to have a lifetime of memories to reflect on. She will never forget the wonderful relationships she has built with her students, families and colleagues over the years. From sharing laughter and tears to working through challenges together, the people she has met along the way have become a part of her life and made every day meaningful.

As retirement begins, Cindy is looking forward to spending more time with her family, including a few exciting trips already on the calendar. She hopes to continue serving others through volunteer work and finding new ways to make a difference.

Cindy leaves behind a reminder that is sure to resonate with anyone who works with children: “Remember that the students that walk into your classroom at the beginning of school will grow so much with your help. Among the big accomplishments they make, don't forget to celebrate the little victories along the way.”

Thank you, Mrs. Berberich, for the care, patience and encouragement you have given to Monroe students and families over the years. Your kindness, dedication and belief in children have made a difference in more lives than you know. 🐝
