The average American only consumes 14 to 15 grams of fiber daily when ideally they should be consuming 25 - 30 grams in order to obtain all of the wonderful health benefits of fiber. Some of the benefits of fiber are listed above but we will continue to dive into the wonderful health benefits of fiber over time. If you are not pooping AT LEAST once daily, your body isn’t ridding itself of its toxic load and there is a high likelihood that you’re diet isn’t rich enough in fiber! Fibrous foods include whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables.

I’m Casey Williams, a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience in the “traditional medical/nursing model” if you will. My passion for functional medicine and integrative health was ignited a little over 2 years ago when my son who was 4 months old at the time developed horrible infantile eczema. I was desperate to heal him from the inside and without the typical treatment modalities. Thankfully with the help of his primary pediatrician and a wonderful integrative pediatrician, we were able to heal his eczema by healing his gut and his nutritional deficiencies.

Over the last two years I have continued to research more functional approaches to healing and my desire to continue learning has only deepened. With my son beginning preschool soon and our 10 year old daughter having found her stride in her homeschool studies, I told my husband I was jonesing to do something that made me feel challenged yet fulfilled again… so here I go, deep diving into functional medicine, as a nurse!

I am so incredibly excited and I hope that as my training continues, I am able to help those who desire it heal their health issues and truly optimize their Wellness from Within!
