November has been one for the books! 📢

Over the course of 14 days, I had the pleasure of speaking to  at ,  at ,  at , and the dispatch academy at . We covered su***de prevention, handling callers in psychiatric crises, supporting a friend who's struggling with mental health, and so much more -- and I had a BLAST!

I'm so honored to have received the wonderful feedback shown on these slides, and I can't wait to bring this type of education to future campuses and organizations.

✨ Put yourself in rooms with people who are already doing what you want to do.  ✨

When I signed up for this Spartan race, I signed up for the open heat. I told myself it was because the elite heat was so dang expensive, but really, it was because I was intimidated by the caliber of athletes at this race series.

The night before the race, fueled by some cookie dough-inspired courage and my mom's words of wisdom to be brave, I upgraded my ticket to the elite heat.

When I walked up to the registration table the next morning, the gal checking me in loudly announced how astounded she was that I signed up for the elite heat in my first ever Spartan race - just the feedback I needed going into a place I already felt I didn't belong. 🙈

I proceeded to get my butt royally kicked. I failed almost all of the hanging and swinging obstacles (except this one!) and ran over a mile in penalty laps.

And you know what?

The more I sit with this experience, the more proud of myself I am. My running was exactly where I hoped it would be thanks to  and , and I now know what I need to work on to perform better at next year's Spartan races.

All this is to say that there's so much benefit in stepping through the fear and insecurity, putting yourself out there, and soaking up all the lessons you possibly can from that experience. Whatever it is that you're currently scared of doing, sign up for your own metaphorical elite heat and give it your best go. ❤️
