The Sunday Scaries Are a Sign: What Your Anxiety Might Be Trying to Tell You 06/24/2025

It’s Sunday evening, and your chest tightens. You’re not physically tired—but emotionally, you’re drained. You dread the next day, even if nothing is “wrong.” These feelings are often referred to as the Sunday scaries.

That tension? It’s more than the end of the weekend. The Sunday scaries are often your mind and body trying to tell you something important.

What Are the Sunday Scaries, Really

The Sunday scaries refer to that creeping sense of anxiety that starts late Sunday and peaks before Monday morning. But this isn't just about hating your job—it’s about ignoring the root of your career anxiety.

That unease is your intuition waving a flag. Pay attention.

Emotional Awareness: A Tool for Understanding Your Triggers

The healing that happened when I let myself feel everything

For a long time, I numbed.
Busy schedules. To-do lists. Constant “doing.”

Because feeling? That was messy.
Uncomfortable.
Too much.

But when I finally let it all in—
the sadness, the rage, the grief—
I also made space for joy.
For clarity.
For peace.

✨ Healing doesn’t happen when you stuff it down. It happens when you let it rise.

The real cost of people-pleasing (and what it stole from me)

People-pleasing made me likable.
Approachable.
Easy.

But it also made me tired.
Invisible.
Resentful.

Every “yes” that wasn’t true stole a piece of my peace.
And slowly, I forgot what I wanted.

Now, I’m rebuilding.
One boundary at a time.
One honest “no” at a time.

✨ Pleasing everyone else isn’t worth losing yourself.

Tired of being “nice” at the expense of being real? Let’s rewrite your rules.
