I’m pleased that through a balanced approach to our resources we’re not only able to lead the QC in infrastructure investments (sorry, not sorry for all the road work!) but also can help our most vulnerable residents.

It was an honor to accept the 2024 Community Champion Award from Bethany for Children and Families this weekend, for our work with them and other agencies to do just that.

Today was momentous because of the launch of the new Quad Cities Manufacturing Institute, a HUGE collaboration between major research universities and our local WIU-QC campus. This is transformative for our region and its businesses and workers. I appreciate all those who picked up the pieces of previous conversations and built something new.

This project is uncannily similar to what I asked for in the summer of 2021 when first connecting with mall ownership. I still believe, as I stated in my State of the City Address this February, that they prefer to turn it into a “zombie mall” rather than make investments. Kudos to our staff who has restarted conversations with them. I’ll be happy when ownership proves the label wrong.
