Thursday Night TNT

Week 12
Holy crap was Thursday Night TNT fun tonight.
The Vikings / Rams game ended at 8:30pm, so we started early and it took a few minutes for the crowd to simmer into a stew, but man, was it fun when it finally did.
Thanks to: Dave, David, Serena, Harry, Shawn, Lb, Jacob & Taylor for having fun with us.
There was a good group of fans that rolled in mid-show and the show ended up being a lot of fun; it was almost like it was magic. They even hung around and drank for a good hour after the show.
The diversity of our open mic night has been exciting. We had two magicians, six stand-up comics and a druken heckler that got hustled into doing a set tonight.
Shout out to our bartender, Cherish, for holding down the fort behind the bar. 🍺

Week 9
We survived NFL Opening Night.
We survived a unite the right rally next door.
We survived having to hear Chris Collinsworth providing the WORST commentary ever.
We started after the game and had a cool lil crowd to at the beginning, but by the time midnight rolled around it was as empty as could be. But overall, we're glad the Pubs didn't come into the pub.
Our host even went out of the way to make sure to let the international guests staying at the hotel those p'woods chanting 'lock her up' in the conference room don't represent all of Americans, just the backwards-thinking ones. Little kids wearing MAGA hats should be considered a form of child abuse.
It was our first ALL STAND UP list so far, and we even had a comic from LA pop-in cause he was a guest at the hotel. They're filming a pool party scene for an upcoming straight-to-Netflix movie there.

Thanks to Cherish for running the kitchen, waiting tables, tending bar, cleaning the place up and being a super awesome TV-turner-downer.
Thanks to Mytv26 for filming the show and thanks to our three tables worth of steadfast regulars that have been coming out to have fun with us each and every week.
Sometimes, it's the small things; and seeing a buncha new comics talking shop, planning out-of-town mic runs together and literally getting better before our eyes makes running a weekly open mic worth the effort.

Week 7
Last night's Thursday Night TNT was a cool lil show. We almost had an all stand up line-up, save Eli and Hans, who walked in at the last minute carrying a flute. I can honestly say it was the first time I'd ever seen a floutist at an open mic.
The NFL game ended early so we were able to start on time this week, and besides, it was a Browns game.
Thanks to the Clarion staff and our beautificious bartender Cherish, Jay and Mytv26 and of course the fun regulars and folks who came to catch the show.
Thanks to Jacob for doing the legwork to get the PA out and thanks to Eli, Aaron Kromann, Lala, LB, Jacob, Austin, Serena and Hans for rocking our mic. I literally told y'all do as much time as you want and we all did that, and it went great; it was more of a workshop than just a regular ol soul sucking open mic. They even liked my random rants about Arbys, GG Allin and Kurdt Cobain shooting himself - it was a blast 💥
