California requires security officers to complete 32 hours of skills training within their first six months of registration, which is typically split into two 16-hour blocks.
First 16 Hours: Must be completed within the first 30 days of licensure or employment. This block covers mandatory topics like public relations, liability, and legal aspects.
Second 16 Hours: The remaining 16 hours of electives must be completed within the first six months.
