Modesto Portuguese Pentecost Association

One of the most beautiful traditions witnessed Sunday in front of the MPPA Portuguese Hall in Modesto was the release of the white doves as the procession returned to the MPPA from St.Stanislaus Catholic Church.

The white doves symbolize the Holy Spirit, peace, blessings, hope, and faith — a tradition deeply rooted in our Portuguese and Azorean culture for generations.

The MPPA Committee, Queens, and Side-maids are all thankful to everyone who came to witness this beautiful tradition at the Modesto festa. It was truly a blessed Sunday!
