Mayor-Tyran Colvin
Before I lay my head down from the long day, I want to tell all of the people that came out to celebrate the nations 250th birthday, how much we enjoyed having you.
Also, I want to give a huge shout to those who stepped up to volunteer, my wife and daughter for always being there for me, the police, fire, maintenance team and our recreation department who literally outperformed themselves.
Tonight was not only an operational success, but a puzzle with many pieces coming together at the right moment to create an event that will live in the memories of those who attended forever.
Chickasaw is such a special place. I am super optimistic about our future and what lies ahead.
Until next year, I hope you and yours enjoyed this historic 4th of July.

All of the preparations have been made, our tongues are hanging out, muscles are aching, we are drenched in sweat, but it is a labor of love and a celebration we hope the community will thoroughly enjoy. None of this would have been possible without our many sponsors, our incredible Maintenace team lead by Chuck Janes, Recreation Director Skye Smith, Market Director Pam Maurin, my wife and life companion Teresa Colvin, my daughter Teryn and our generous volunteers.
Tonight is to celebrate freedom, 250 years to be exact and the signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. Let's enjoy living in a free country, a safe country and a prosperous nation.
Grounds and vendors open at 5 pm. Come by the city tent for free watermelon while it last. Line dancing starts about 7:20. The Jukebox Brass Band takes the stage at 8:15 and the fireworks begin at 9.
Bring a friend. Bring a chair. It's going to be a blast!
