Snakes of Alabama Program 🐍

Curious about the snakes you might see around your home or in the outdoors? Join Alabama Cooperative Extension to learn all about Alabama’s native snakes! This program will cover snake identification, conservation, and how to be “snake-smart” around your home.

Alabama livestock and pet owners should be on the lookout for a new pest. Last month, the Asian longhorned tick was detected for the first time in the state on a dog in DeKalb County. While several other tick species are common in Alabama, the reproductive capabilities of this tick create an enhanced health concern for animals.
