Tetras are one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish since folks started keeping fish. They are brightly colored, generally peaceful, and fun to watch as they actively swim around together.
Tetras are hardy and good for beginners – plus there are TONS of different kinds; we currently have more than 50 varieties in stock!
We suggest you buy at least 3 of a kind for safety. Bill says the more the merrier - if you only buy two, the larger of the two will chase the smaller one to death, then you’ll just have one. Since tetras are a naturally schooling fish, just ONE will be sad and lonely. NO ONE wants a sad and lonely tetra in their tank; so buy 3 or more.
