Today, we’re grateful for community partners who show up for our veterans. 🇺🇸❤️

Thank you to Rotary Club of Mobile and Roosters Downtown for recognizing and supporting the work happening at Eagle’s Landing, VOA Southeast’s transitional housing program for veterans.

Deb Murph, Director of Eagle’s Landing, shared with the Rotary today about the impact of stable housing, supportive services, and community partnerships in helping veterans move forward.

During the event, Roosters Downtown, a longtime supporter, presented a donation check to Deb through their No Vets Left Behind initiative. The Rotary Club of Mobile also made a donation in Deb’s honor to Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy, a vital partner helping uninsured individuals, including Eagle’s Landing residents, access needed prescription medications.

Together, these partners are helping veterans access the care, stability, and hope they deserve.

What an incredible experience during United Way of Southwest Alabama’s ! 🌱💚

We are grateful to the amazing volunteers from Trustmark who joined VOA Southeast staff and the individuals we serve through our Community Enrichment Center for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Together, we planted vegetables, herbs, strawberries, flowers, and more while bringing new life and beauty to our garden spaces.

More importantly, this day created meaningful moments of connection, inclusion, and joy for the individuals we serve. Seeing community members invest their time and heart into their space reminded them they are valued, supported, and part of a community that cares.

Mental health challenges often impact every part of a person’s life — housing, relationships, employment, and stability. At VOA Southeast, we believe healing begins with compassion, support, and a safe place to call home.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we’re sharing Bo’s story — a powerful reminder that recovery and hope are possible when people are given the support they need. From addiction and instability to recovery and purpose, Bo’s journey reflects the life-changing impact of housing, mental health services, and community support.
