FinCEN Residential Real Estate Rule
MARCH 19, 2026: FINCEN RULE VACATED NATIONWIDE
Today, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas vacated FinCEN’s Residential Real Estate Rule, finding that the Rule exceeded the agency’s statutory authority under the Bank Secrecy Act. The ruling by the Court vacates the rule nationwide.
This week Mechelle Musgrove was able to settle an eviction matter for a client who needed to evict a tenant who failed to pay rent. This office was able to secure a $20,000 judgment in the landlord’s favor as well as have the tenant vacate in a timely manner.
