Inside The Paint
Founder’s Take
I understand that there should measures taken to curve the violence throughout the entire City of Mobile. However, I believe more thinking in terms of moving all high school activities and events should be revisited. Let’s recapitulate the procedures that are being used to enter the contests.
First, I believe the AHSAA should revisit its method of purchasing tickets to athletic events. It’s too risky to have tickets for games bought online.
I believe that the security appointments for events and games should be addressed and that those officers assigned or volunteering should be on site to perform a job and not entertain themselves. Security is designed to render protection.
I am all in for schools having their own on campus stadiums, however, leaders have to consider cost and manpower. Security will be in high demand with on campus sites as well.
Bottom line this shooting incident played right into the hands of Mayor Stimpson and his staff hands. Plans are to tear down Ladd - Peeples Stadium and people who are unaware and unconcerned are helping carry out this plan.
I am praying for the families who were victims to this ignorant shooting at Ladd - Peeples Stadium. And I hope those involved in this horrible crime are apprehended and justice is done to them in the right manner. Criminals like those need to be behind bars. No bail should be granted. Safety for all citizens should be the concern of our school and local officials.
My Take
Speaking of Justice. The slightest incident to occur with a black or minority individual whether it be job related or community based the result is demotion or removal. However, the same situations can occur with the opposite race and he/she gains a promotion or placed in another working location. Straighten the line across the board so that Justice is fair to everyone.
