It’s always nice to bump into friends at the Isle of Man TT Races. One of our favorite Land Speed Racing Ladies Erin Sills is on the island for the Women Riders World Relay WRWR event. This great gathering of female riders from around the world makes its TT debut next week.

Today Land Speed Racing USA had the honor of visiting Miss Britain III at the British Maritime Museum in London.
Built in 1933 by Hubert Scott-Paine, this remarkable machine changed the course of speed racing history. At a time when sheer horsepower ruled the water, Miss Britain III proved that innovation, lightweight design and aerodynamic thinking could challenge even the most powerful competitors.
Powered by a single supercharged Napier Lion aircraft engine, the sleek silver craft went on to become the first single-engined boat to exceed 100 mph — an astonishing achievement in an era where danger was ever-present and technology was still catching up with ambition.
What makes Miss Britain III so special isn’t just the speed… it’s the philosophy behind it. Precision over brute force. Efficiency over excess. A mindset that would go on to define modern racing across land, sea and air.
Standing in front of it today, you can still feel that spirit.
A true icon of speed.Decades ahead of its time.
