Today, Commonwealth National Bank joins our community in honoring Juneteenth, one of the most powerful moments in American history and a lasting reminder of freedom, resilience, progress, and legacy.

Juneteenth is not only a celebration of how far we have come. It is also a reminder of the future we continue to build together.

At Commonwealth National Bank, we believe one of the most meaningful expressions of freedom is economic empowerment: the ability to save, invest, own, and create wealth for yourself, your family, and future generations.

For more than 50 years, Commonwealth has proudly stood in partnership with our community through our mission of Making Wealth Common — For All.

As a reminder, Commonwealth National Bank is closed today in observance of Juneteenth. We look forward to serving you when we reopen.

This Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom, legacy, and the opportunity to continue building wealth for generations to come.

Freedom to dream. Freedom to grow. Freedom to build wealth.

Small businesses help shape communities, and Watch Me Grow Child Development Center, Inc. is a powerful example of what can grow from vision, perseverance, and purpose.

Founded by Hazel Gardner in 2000, Watch Me Grow began as a small in-home child development center serving just five children. With a background in education and a passion for child development, Ms. Gardner created a safe, nurturing, academically focused environment for young learners.

As Watch Me Grow continued to grow, its mission remained centered on strengthening the community through education. The center focused on three core values:

1. Supporting and educating the community
2. Creating opportunities for children and families
3. Ensuring a brighter future through education and charitable outreach

That mission helped Watch Me Grow grow into a thriving educational center serving 135 children and families throughout the Mobile community.

When Ms. Gardner was ready to expand her vision, Commonwealth National Bank was proud to help support that next chapter. Today, Watch Me Grow stands as a testament to faith, perseverance, educational leadership, and the power of community partnership.

CNB is honored to spotlight Hazel Gardner and Watch Me Grow Child Development Center, Inc., a longtime and invaluable small business customer.

Financial literacy starts early.

Meet Mia, an 8-year-old 2nd grader and a brand new Commonwealth National Bank customer.

When asked what saving means to her, Mia shared a simple but powerful lesson:

“Save for the important stuff you really need, not everything you want.”

That message captures one of the most important foundations of financial literacy: learning the difference between needs and wants. When children begin learning that lesson early, they can start building habits that support long-term financial confidence, discipline, and decision-making.

At CNB, we believe banking is about more than accounts. It is about education, access, trust, and helping families take meaningful steps toward their financial goals.

During Financial Literacy Month, we are proud to highlight moments like this because they remind us why the work matters. Teaching children to save early can help prepare them for a stronger financial future.

To learn more about opening a savings account for your legacy, visit Commonwealth National Bank or speak with a CNB team member today.
CNB customers can also continue learning through Our Money Matters, powered by Enrich, a financial education resource designed to help individuals and families build knowledge at every stage.
