Financial Tip Friday! πŸ’°βœ¨

As a small business owner or leader of an organization, it's crucial to maintain a healthy cash flow to keep your business running smoothly. One strategy to do so is to invoice your clients promptly. After providing a service or delivering a product, make it a priority to send out invoices within 24-48 hours or on a set schedule. πŸ•‘

Doing so will help you get paid faster, avoid late payments, and better understand your business's financial standing. Additionally, prompt invoicing will make tracking your income and expenses easier, maintain accurate records, and make informed financial decisions.

So, if you are looking to improve your financial management, start by prioritizing timely invoicing. 🧾

Financial Tip Friday! πŸ’°βœ¨

Let’s talk about the power of staying on top of your game when it comes to deadlines. πŸ“†

Setting reminders for critical dates in your business like paying sales tax, submitting payroll, and invoicing clients, can save you from last-minute stress and financial penalties.

βœ… Quick Tips for Setting Reminders:

β–ͺ️ Use digital calendars such as Google Calendar or Outlook to set up alerts for important dates. Set multiple reminder alerts to provide plenty of preparation time. Take advantage of reoccurring events for tasks that repeat regularly.

β–ͺ️ Utilize accounting software to automate reminders for recurring payments and tax deadlines. Customize your alerts to ensure you receive notifications with plenty of time to prepare.

β–ͺ️ If you prefer a visual reminder, dedicate an area of your workspace to outline key dates by using a desk calendar, a whiteboard, or a planner. Use a color-coded system for different types of tasks to be able to easily distinguish between them. Make sure you regularly update and review to stay aware of approaching deadlines.

Set those reminders and keep your business running like a well-oiled machine. Your future self will thank you!

Financial Tip Friday! πŸ’°βœ¨

Today’s tip may seem like a no-brainer, but several small business owners make this mistake.

Keep your business and personal accounts SEPARATE! 🚫

Here is why this matters:

1️⃣ Clarity: Mixing personal and business expenses can turn your financial records into a tangled mess. Keeping them separate helps track your business expenses more accurately.

2️⃣ Tax Time: Untangling personal and business expenses at tax time is no fun. Save yourself (and your bookkeeper πŸ˜‰) the headache by maintaining clean, organized records.

3️⃣ Legal: Separating accounts adds a layer of legal protection to your business. It establishes a clear distinction between personal and business assets, safeguarding you and your business in case of legal issues.

As a business owner, you always want a true representation of how your business is performing. If you need assistance setting up bookkeeping protocols in your business, feel free to reach out to me. I would love to help!
