This week, while many young adults were celebrating their high school graduations, one of our residents was celebrating a graduation of her own.
At first glance, they may seem like completely different milestones. In many ways, they are. But in some of the most important ways, they are remarkably similar.
Both mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Both require stepping into the unknown. Both mean leaving behind the place that felt familiar and learning how to build a life of your own. Both come with excitement, fear, hope, and the question of what comes next.
As parents watch their graduates leave home, they do so knowing they will always be there to offer encouragement, guidance, and a safe place to land when needed. We feel much the same way about our graduates. While her journey may look different, she is not walking into this next season alone.
As part of her graduation celebration, she planted a tree on the ranch. A simple act, but one filled with meaning.
Trees do not grow overnight. Their roots form quietly beneath the surface long before anyone can see the growth above. Much like healing, growth takes time, patience, and courage.
This tree will remain here as a reminder of where her roots began to grow stronger. A reminder that she was here, that her story matters, and that she accomplished something incredibly difficult.
Long after she has moved forward into the next chapter of her life, there will still be evidence of her journey standing here on the ranch.
We are so proud of her. Not because she reached the finish line, but because she kept going when the road was hard. Because she chose growth. Because she chose hope. And because she had the courage to believe that a different future was possible.
Congratulations, graduate. We cannot wait to see how far you grow. 🤍
