5th graders at Rattlesnake Elementary School made sculptures using elements of the book “The Birchbark House,” prompting them to use visualization and plot to create a scene. Below it, each student wrote their “Artist Statement” describing their work. 📝

Our own SPARK! Teaching Artist Bailey Zook brings sculpture projects like these to elementary kiddos around the community, one of many teaching artists who bring their expertise to individualized lessons in classrooms.

Students at Russell Elementary School studied stained glass art and geometric shapes this week. The 1st graders then had a chance to make their own creations with transparency paper and mixing colors with glue gel. We love to see these kids excited about their work! ✨
