Have the time of your lives . . . and work on that core strength if you're going to attempt the lift, as Sounds of the Summer continues with DIRTY DANCING, playing nightly July 10-16

It's the summer of 1963, and the Housman family is gearing up for yet another dull summer in the Catskills. For Baby, the youngest member of the Housman clan, it's just another detour on the way to college and the Peace Corps. But from the first night Baby lays eyes on her dance instructor, the magnificent Johnny Castle, it's clear that this year is going to be different. With a great retro soundtrack and some of the most iconic scenes of the eighties, not to mention the godlike physique of Patrick Swayze, Dirty Dancing is a nostalgia powerhouse.

So you know how you love movies and we love movies and we try to make it EXTRA fun for you to come love movies with us?

Well we have something special cooking for Sounds of Summer. When you come to our summer series, you get a punch card and a punch for each movie. At the end of summer, you get as many entries as you have punches to win the The Complete Kubrick collection by .

Yes, we're buying one of you the box set you were all salivating over last week (we were doing it too, no judgement!).

So swing over to Sounds of Summer and potentially trade that punchcard in for THE ULTIMATE PRIZE!

We're preordering. We can't wait. Whoever wins better pose for a picture with this bad boy because he looks heavy.

Liberated World Cinema returns with an all timer soundtrack pick - join us for THE HARDER THEY COME, Thursday, July 9th at 7:30pm!

WITH A PIECE IN HIS HAND, HE TAKES ON THE MAN! The epochal cultural moment that first brought reggae to the international stage, made Jimmy Cliff a star — and demonstrated how music can change the world.

Fifty years on, THE HARDER THEY COME is still electric with the feeling of discovery. This SCARFACE-y blend of crime drama and musical tracks Cliff’s country-boy-in-search-of-fame through Jamaica under the guises of laborer, recording artist, convict, g***a dealer, and outlaw folk hero.

Before THE HARDER THEY COME, the collective perception of a “foreign film” was limited to the Bergmans and the Kurosawas of the world. This game-changer forever blew those doors off — and it still hasn’t lost a drop of its cool, its edge, or its way of making you dance.be s
