CHECK-IN
• Enter the fairgrounds from 4th Avenue northeast and proceed through Gate A

• Upon arrival, go to one of the check-in stations just inside the east-facing entrance doors of the 4-H Hall

• State Fair staff will inspect exhibit tags for proper information and descriptions as each exhibit is scanned in
- Tips
o Please ensure that each exhibit has an exhibit tag with a detailed description that matches the exhibit
o Please have exhibit tag properly and securely affixed
> Packing tape = YES!
> Scotch tape = NO
o Fabric exhibits: Use safety pins to affix tag
o Jar items: Packing tape or rubber bands work great!
o Exhibits with multiple parts: Please tag each piece and number it (1 of 2 and 2 of 2)
o Refer to the 2026 ND State Fair 4-H Exhibit book for project specific rules regarding tag placement. (photography, foods, sewing and textiles, etc.)
o For drawings and painting make sure your name is on the back

• Take exhibits to the location designated to the appropriate project area in 4-H Hall
- Maps with the general layout of 4-H Hall and carts are available for use
o Note: Large project areas like Wood Arts will be arranged loosely by county groups alphabetically to make it easier for judges to locate exhibits, and to find exhibits at check-out. Keep this in mind when placing those exhibits.
- Staff will be available to answer questions.

Thank you in advance for your patience, flexibility, and positive attitude throughout this process. With more than 7,800 static exhibits on display, successful check-in depends on the teamwork of State Fair staff, county Extension staff, volunteers, and families like yours.

We sincerely appreciate your support and dedication to making the NDSF a memorable experience for our 4-H youth. Thank you, and best of luck at the 2026 North Dakota State Fair!
