Wondering why we chose Moab for our inaugural continuing education event?

Listen as Kelly G. Wilson, PhD — co-founder of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy — describes the high desert landscape. The reason becomes clear.

We gather at The Red Earth venue, surrounded by glass, red rock formations filling every window — exploring the poetics of ACT with one of its founders. As the day’s learning winds down, we linger through a sunset social hour that fades into a new moon sky: one of the darkest in the world, densely starred, holding its own awe and magic.

You return the next two mornings, greeted with breakfast and perhaps a stroll across 17 acres of high desert as the sun climbs higher, illuminating ancient stone. The work continues — language, timing, negative space, metaphor, the texture of ACT in practice, beyond any protocol — it’s about the beauty within psychotherapy itself.

Your afternoons are yours — Arches National Park, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point State Park, all within reach.

This is continuing education that moves you.

For Mental Health Professionals:

We’ve been searching for continuing education that inspires, renews, and responds to the moment we’re in. We think you might be looking for the same.

Join us in the high desert of Moab, Utah for “The Poetics of ACT: Finding Beauty in the Midst of Darkness”
Led by Dr. Kelly G Wilson, Co-Founder of ACT, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Mississippi

If you are not familiar with ACT—no worries. You don't need to be.

If you don't want to learn another protocol—again, no worries—that is NOT what this is.

This is 12 CE hours, spread out over 3 half days, in the middle of the high desert surrounded by red rock formations in a mostly glass building.

It's slowing down to reflect on the therapy room itself—what we bring, what our clients bring, and what arises within our space when we are together.

It's about the beauty that lives within the work we do, and the beauty in what our clients create within their lives.

🐢 Joining us in Moab? Consider arriving or departing by way of Zion — and slowing down along the way. The Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, just 45 minutes west of Zion, is home to Utah's only native tortoise — the Mojave Desert Tortoise. The one crossing your path could be 80 years old. Keep your pace easy and your eyes low in the cooler morning hours, and you just might get lucky. Some wisdom arrives on four legs and a shell. 🌵

"Our natural inclination is most always to move more quickly than is useful. As a general rule, slow down just a little more than you think is enough." Kelly G. Wilson

Let's slow down together in the beautiful red rock desert of Moab, Utah from November 9-11. We will spend three days delving deeply into the Poetics of ACT with one of its co-founders, Kelly Wilson. There will be time to learn, connect, reflect, explore, all while earning 12 CEs as Psychologists, Social workers and other Mental Health professionals.

-Early bird pricing is available through June 15.
