Craft Night: DIY Pride Yarn

Quilt Inspired Joomchi

with Riley Kleve
Create a layered wall hanging inspired by quilts while learning the art of joomchi, a Korean fiber technique.

Minnesota has an amazing arts community, and we are home to this largest open studio tour weekend in the country. While Textile Center is not in NE, we want to support the MANY working textile artists who will be sharing their craft this weekend!

๐‘ป๐‘พ๐‘ถ-๐‘บ๐‘ท๐‘ฐ๐‘น๐‘ฐ๐‘ป ๐‘บ๐‘ป๐‘ถ๐‘น๐‘ฐ๐‘ฌ๐‘บ showcases the work of emerging Two-Spirit Native artists residing in Minnesota. In a celebration of traditional and contemporary handwork, these artists are affirming Indigenous and q***r identity using themes of ceremony, community, and ancestral tradition. Mark your calendar and join us for an Artist Reception Thursday, June 4, 5:30 - 7 pm at Textile Center. On view through July 11, 2026.

Answering a call to pick up their gifts, to bring their medicine forward, TWO-SPIRIT STORIES offers craftwork and hand-built pieces that move past adornment to systems of identity, past utility into reciprocity. When we build with our hands, we invest energy and life force to be shared with relatives, loved ones and strangers alike.
Serving as Curator for Community Collaboration, Penny Kagigebi, (White Earth Ojibwe), invited Minnesota artists from tribes across the Upper Midwest to tell their stories. What is your story?
