At Denfeld High School, rising graduation rates for Native American students have been supported by programs like Check & Connect Student Engagement Intervention Check, run by the University of Minnesota Twin Cities' Institute on Community Integration. By pairing students with dedicated mentors who monitor progress, solve problems, and advocate for their needs, Check & Connect helps students stay connected to school and on track to graduate.

Duluth's Denfeld High School celebrates huge jump in Native American graduation rate The graduation rate among Native students at Denfeld High School in Duluth jumped 12 points to 74 percent. That’s five points higher than the statewide average.
